Amy J. Ramirez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and dynamic educational leader with over a decade of experience serving diverse student populations in urban school districts, families, and communities across school and clinical mental health experience.

She currently serves as a School Social Worker with New Haven Public Schools, where she is a member of her school’s Leadership Team and also works as a District Homebound Social Worker, supporting students with complex academic and social-emotional needs.

Amy is the Owner and Clinical Director of Transformative Therapy & Wellness Services, LLC, a growing group private practice in Connecticut that provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed care to diverse communities. As a bilingual clinician, she is trained in evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and MATCH (Modular Approach to Therapy for Children), allowing her to tailor treatment to meet the unique needs of each client.

In addition to her clinical and school-based work, Amy serves as an Adjunct Faculty Advisor and Seminar Instructor at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work, where she supports and mentors graduate-level social work students in their practicum experience.

Amy’s prior leadership experience includes serving as the District School Social Work Coach for Hartford Public Schools, where she provided strategic leadership, coaching, and professional development to school social workers across the district. She has also worked as a Clinical Supervisor with Hartford Psychological Services, LLC, supporting the development of emerging clinicians.

Her areas of expertise include social-emotional learning, school climate, trauma-informed practices, and equity-focused interventions. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Theater & Dance from Trinity College. She also holds a Certification in Educational Leadership/ Intermediate Administration & Supervision (092) from Sacred Heart University.

Amy has been recognized as a Mujer Hispana CT Honoree (2026) and a Caribbean American Dance Company Community Award Recipient (2025), in addition to being named a Hartford Principal Leadership Fellow (2024) and a Class of 2024 100 Women of Color Honoree.

Proud of her Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage, Amy brings authenticity, cultural humility, and a deep commitment to community empowerment in all aspects of her work. She resides in New Haven County with her husband and daughter.
